Synchronize 2017

On the 7th and 8th of November, Bishop Cottons held their Science Fest, Synchronize. This year, the school went international, inviting dignitaries from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Dr. Robert Fury and Mr. Firestone both gave guest lectures at the event and had glowing comments about the school and their heritage. Mrs. Preetha Ram, the Chief Guest for the day inspired the students with her speech about technology and entrepreneurship. With 18 events covering a variety of fields, the Fest was truly Powered by Science and Driven by IT  Some of the Most notable events were Bloodwork, the forensic Criminology based event, Cryptonite, the Cryptography based event and Clash of the titans, the debate and Moot Court event. The final prize was awarded to Christ Junior College who managed to secure a placement in almost every event.

Senior & ISC Prize Day-2017

The 21st of August was a historic occasion for Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, as it marked the school’s One Hundred and Fifty Second Prize Day, for the academic year 2016-17.Rajeev Gowda , Member of Parliament – Rajya Sabha, was in attendance as Chief Guest. Miss Kanika Choudhary was the Guest of Honour. The Senior School and ISC prize day, which was an amalgamation of all sections of the school, was a grand success.
 

Junior School Prize Day-2017

The 19th of August was a historic occasion for Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, as it marked the school’s One Hundred and Fifty Second Prize Day, for the academic year 2016-17.Dr.Thimappa Hegde was in attendance as Chief Guest. The Junior School prize day, which was an amalgamation of all sections of the school, was a grand success.

Cottons Model United Nations 2017

On the 3rd, 4th and 5th of August, Bishop Cotton Boys’ School hosted the largest Model United Nations Conference in South India. With over 700 delegates in attendance and a widely respected executive board consisting of the winners of the Harvard MUN and Ivy League MUN, CoMUN has upheld its reputation as the best in the country.

ST.PETER’S DAY – JUNE 2017

St. Peter’s Day was held on the 29th of June, 2017 . The preacher Rt. Rev.Timothy Ravinder , Bishop ,Coimbatore Diocese spoke about the vision St.Pettigrew had for Cottons .The Celebrant was Rt.Rev.Dr.P . K Samuel, Bishop of the Church of South India.The Officiating ministers were The Rev.Solomon Thomas , The Rev.John Milton,the Rev.Prem Mitra , the Rev.Vincent Vinod Kumar , the Rev. Satish Timothy Paul,the Rev.Jacob Ravinder . Members of the Board of Management, the Principals of both Bishop Cotton Boys’ and Girls’ School(s) and other dignitaries were in attendance. Mrs.Lilian Zachariah was the Choir Director and the choir was appreciated by the Bishop of Coimbatore .Special songs were rendered by the Music Department .It was witnessed by almost a thousand people It was a solemn occasion, full of grandeur and prestige and was capped off by a sumptuous breakfast .The Old Cottonians’ day was on the following day.

RESURGENCE JULY 7th 2017

Resurgence 2017 was held on 7thJuly , 2017 .It is one of the biggest Commerce fest in Bangalore.32 Schools and around 900 students took part in this fest. There were 13 events scheduled for this fest.The Chief guest, Dr.Zahedi Mujawar addressed the gathering with an encouraging and enlightening speech showcasing the importance of education , humility and passion towards what we do. He stressed on “Love what you do”. The overall winner was Christ Junior College and runner up was NPS Indiranagar.

Prefects’ Investiture

On the 17th of June , a hundred an seventeen Junior and Senior prefects were formally vested with authority by the Principal , Professor John K. Zachariah. The school captain, Adyant Balaji , Head of Day Scholars ,Agasthya Manmohan and the Head of Boarders ,Manan Khandelwal promised to be loyal and preserve to uphold the school’s name and heritage. The chief guest , Mr.Bhawani Pratap Rana, a former school captain, reiterated the role of leaders in others’ lives , giving guidance to the prefects on their newly appointed roles .This solemn event marked the beginning for many to display their skills and build the characters.                      

Word Environment Day-2017

World Environment Day is observed on June 5th every year. The Theme for 2017 as declared by the UNEP is ‘Connecting People to Nature’. A special Assembly was held at School on June 9th to mark this very important day. Our dear Principal, Prof John K. Zachariah walks the extra mile, to leave no stone unturned, to make sure that our 6,000 odd students are instilled with the value of caring for the Environment. Our Chief Guest for the day – was Mr Santhosh R. Sutar, currently serving as the Regional Director at CEE (Centre for Environment Education).His keynote address emphasized the importance of PLANTS on our Planet. ‘Planting of Saplings’ was indeed a fitting finale to this meet, wherein our Principal, Chief Guest, Treasurer, Staff and students of the various uniformed services – the NCC, Green Brigade, SAFE, ( etc ) took part.

Graduation Day – 2016 – 17

  The Graduation Day was held on the 21st of January, 2017. It saw 587 Cottonians take the next step in their lives and head out into the world with their heads held high. The Chief Guest was Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, who was the former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of India .  Adyant Balaji was appointed as the School Captain Designate for the academic year 2017-18, and received the mantle of responsibility from the outgoing Captain, Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy. All in all, the Graduation Day was a grand success and was an occasion to be remembered.

“Prince of Peace” Christmas Play

  On a beautiful winter evening, the stage was all set for a spectacular musical at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, where thousands gathered to usher in the spirit of Christmas. Against the backdrop of the school building, a grand stage, around 200 feet long, was built for ‘The Prince of Peace’, a play directed by principal Prof. John Zachariah. The magnificent theatrical production, around 90 minutes long, boasted of a cast of around 1,500 people which included actors, singers, dancers and musicians including Old Cottonians, present ones, staff members and a few students from the girls’ school.
