World Environment Day is observed on June 5th every year. The Theme for 2017 as declared by the UNEP is ‘Connecting People to Nature’.
A special Assembly was held at School on June 9th to mark this very important day. Our dear Principal, Prof John K. Zachariah walks the extra mile, to leave no stone unturned, to make sure that our 6,000 odd students are instilled with the value of caring for the Environment.
Our Chief Guest for the day – was Mr Santhosh R. Sutar, currently serving as the Regional Director at CEE (Centre for Environment Education). His keynote address emphasized the importance of PLANTS on our Planet.
‘Planting of Saplings’ was indeed a fitting finale to this meet, wherein our Principal, Chief Guest, Treasurer, Staff and students of the various uniformed services – the NCC, Green Brigade, SAFE, ( etc ) took part.
